This policy explains what Chef Rumble collects, why, and what you can do about it. Chef Rumble is operated by The Wee Company (ABN 15 338 828 654, Victoria, Australia) ("we", "us"). Contact us any time at hello@theweecompany.com.au.

Who this covers

Chef Rumble is a meal planning app for iPhone. This policy covers the app and the Chef Rumble backend service it talks to.

What we collect

Account data. Your email address and a hashed password when you register. We never store your password in readable form.

Household data. Everything you enter to make planning work: household name, members you add (their name, age band, and role), dietary needs and allergies, food preferences and dislikes, meal schedule settings, and your pantry and shopping list contents.

Address. If you enter a household address, we store it and use it to pick the right currency and units. It is optional.

Usage data. Meals you plan, cook, rate, or skip, and the recipes we generate for you. We use this to make later suggestions fit you better.

Chat and voice input. Messages you send to the in-app cooking assistants, and speech you dictate while cooking.

Photos. Photos you take or choose so the app can read what is in your pantry.

Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, which plan, and when it renews. Apple handles the payment. We never see your card details.

Diagnostics. Basic crash and error information, including device model and OS version, so we can fix what breaks.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We do not use Chef Rumble data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Sensitive information

Dietary needs and allergies can reveal health or religious information. We ask for them only because meal planning does not work without them, we use them only to plan and filter meals, and you can remove them at any time in the app.

Demo mode

If you choose Demo mode at first launch, the app runs entirely on your device with sample data. Nothing is sent to our servers and no account is created.

Camera, microphone, and photos

These are used only while you are actively using the feature that needs them, and only after you grant permission in iOS. Photos are sent to our service to identify ingredients and are not kept after processing. You can revoke any of these permissions in iOS Settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of providers to run the service:

We also share information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety or rights of our users. If the business is ever sold or merged, data may transfer as part of that; we will tell you first.

Where your data lives

Our servers and database are hosted in Australia (Sydney). Our providers may process data in other countries. When data leaves your country, we rely on the providers' standard contractual safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and household data while your account is open. Delete your account and we remove your personal data within 30 days, apart from records we must keep for tax or legal reasons. Backups roll off within 35 days.

Your choices

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, California, or Australia), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us and we will handle it.

Children

Chef Rumble is for people 13 and over. You may add children to your household as members so that meals suit them. Those entries are entered and controlled by you, are limited to a name, age band, and dietary needs, and cannot sign in or use the app themselves. We do not knowingly let anyone under 13 create an account. If you believe a child has created one, email hello@theweecompany.com.au and we will delete it.

Security

Traffic between the app and our service is encrypted with TLS. Your sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Passwords are hashed. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously and will notify you if a breach affects you.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
